Garden of the Gods

On Friday We decided to toodle up to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado springs so we could show Jessie all the cool rocks . . . It was pretty neat because Grandma came with us . . . Kathy was in the store, so we didn't need to stay there so we all got to have a day off.

Here are some of the beautiful mountains on the way up to Garden of the Gods.

My sweet Jessie climbing rocks . . . with Pikes Peak in the background . . . pretty cool, huh? Don't ask me who those people are on the left side of the picture . . . . those are not my people, but they have to stay otherwise I cut out part of the mountain, oh well.
Me and Jessie and Grandma with the cool rocks in the background . . . Some lady from Australia took this picture for us!

I will be so sad to see it end

I have beyond loved having my niece here with me!!!! She is so fabulous! I don't want her to leave. But since she isn't leaving till tomorrow, I am not going to focus on that , I'm going to focus on all the fun we have had!!!

Here are the old fashioned pictures I promised from the other day when we were at Heritage Square. We had so much fun doing these! And I think Alex and Tim look like they belonged in that time!

The old fashioned pictures were taken on Monday, so on Tuesday we went to the Zoo. Before Jessie came out to visit I asked her what she really wanted to do while she was here and she said "I want to go to the Zoo." So Tuesday we picked up Aunty and went. Jessie loved the Zoo, and I loved going! I have always loved the zoo!

Alex and Aunty looking at some crawly critter . . . The boys are so good with Aunty!

My beautiful Girlie with a Komodo Dragon (Happily behind glass!) There was this little boy and his mom, and she wanted him to stand where Jessie is, so she could take his picture, and he kept looking at the glass like ~ Can that thing really be stuck behind there? and then finally he said, "I can't mama." It was pretty cute!

The 5 of us in the Tropical Discovery! It was a good time . . . I just wish that Tony had been there, because since Jessie has been here we haven't really had any time with Tony at all! And that makes me really sad. Personally I think Brooke doesn't want him to spend time with Jessie because she is too cute . . . but when you really sit down and think about it . . . SHE IS HIS 1ST COUSIN . . . his VERY CUTE 1st cousin, and I think Brooke is Jealous.

Aunty, the Boys and Jessie . . . They are so cute and happy! I love happy people!

Alex, Jessie and Avery . . . I think she really likes standing with her VERY tall cousins!

So this next picture is NOT one of her cousins!

But that Baby Gorilla is totally adorable and needed to have his picture taken!!! I love gorillas!!

Here is Jessie "kissing" the gorilla statue! Too funny!

I think these pictures are super cute!!

This is me and Aunty sitting outside "Bird World" waiting for the kids. They don't let you bring drinks into Bird World so we waited outside with the drinks, which didn't hurt my feelings at all, since first of all Bird world is kind of stinky and Secondly my feet and my back were killing me, so it was good to sit for a little bit!

Lions, and Tigers and Bears oh my! And Elephants?!?!? My kids with the Elephant . . . Isn't this a great picture . . . (The elephant is really an elephant cut out~ but it looks so real!!!) I think this is my all time favorite picture from the Zoo! (The Denver Zoo is going to start construction within the next 2 years on a HUGE 200 acre enclosure for the elephants and they are going to bring in a bunch of new elephants and start participating in the breeding program so they can help save and protect these beautiful HUGE animals!)

After the Zoo we went to dinner and took a lot of pictures of each other! Here are Alex and I taking pictures of each other!

Jessie was thinking about the flash Blinding her!!!

A super cute picture of Jessie and Grandpa!!!

Either Alex or Avery took this one . . . (I hate to say this but Jessie looks so much like my sister Cindy (her mom) that I think it confuses Grandpa a little bit!)

This one is a little on the Blurry side, but still cute!

So I think today we are going to go to Casa Bonita and toodle around there. Its a restaurant (REALLY BAD FOOD) that is built like a little Mexican village. They have a waterfall in the middle of the eating area and Cliff divers (Speaking of Cliff Divers~ Tim!!! My Darling wonderful Tim used to be one of those cliff divers when he was in high School! Ooooh la la . . . my sexy honey! )
And other than that we are just going to finish up our scrapbooking and hang out . . . We want to get some more pictures done with Grandma, Grandpa, and Each of the boys with Jessie! I would also love to have a few more pictures of her and I! (She is so cute! But hey, I'm pretty cute too! ) So that's about it for us . . . It's been a fun fun fun week Jessie and I were working on our scrapbooks last night (Pictures of those layouts to come . . . next time) and she said that the week has gone by so fast that she doesn't want to go back to Iowa, that she has loved being out here so much! I'm glad, I have LOVED Having her here!!! She is so wonderful . . . But I do have something to look forward to . . . She and my other niece/daughter Rahni Rae are thinking of coming out in August! And I would SOOOOOOO love that! It would be one of the happiest things in my life to have both my girls here with me, and then we could scrapbook! (A mother Daughter event~ Boys, (I love my boys so much) but boys don't really like to scrap book . . . and I love having someone share my fun and joy with me in documenting our family!! Oh and don't forget you can buy scrapbook supplies from me~ http://www.acbaileydesigns.net/?Click=225
Well I guess I had better get going, I have tons of stuff to do, I'm writing the dedication page for her Colorado vacation book! (She is writing one for mine! It's too much fun!) And I need to get that done today so she can put it in her book and take it with her! So I better get moving!
Hope you are all having as much fun as I am!!!

A day in the mountains

We went up to Mount Evans, Echo Lake and Idaho Springs yesterday! Jessie had never seen the mountains before. So for me it was a no brainer on where to take her, to one of my favorite places on the planet. It was pretty cool, when we got there some one had tossed Red tulips into the water an they were just floating around. Love these pictures. (If you click on the photo, you can actually see it large, and then you can really see the tulips floating)

Even though it's the end of May . . . it was REALLY cold up in the mountains yesterday (It was even snowing a little) the clouds were hanging low over the tops of the mountains . . . But it looks so beautiful!

Alex is so funny, he liked to ride in the car with his head out the window like a dog . . . My boy is pretty strange! My dad would say "he looks like Ruffles in the wind." Just like he used to tell Jaqui when we would ride in the back of the truck when we were growing up.
Here we are all standing beside Echo Lake . . . it was so beautiful!

What adventure would be complete without a self portrait of me and Tim! We are so cute!!!

Alex, as always didn't want his picture taken . . . but I manged to get this one, and I love it! It's so typical of him!

I think Jessie had a lot of fun toodling around up at Echo lake, I wish it had been a little bit warmer so I could have taken her to my "Favorite Rock" so we could have sat on it. (Yes, I really do have a favorite rock)

After Echo Lake we went and toodled around in Idaho Springs. It was pretty fun.

Jessie loved this sign . . . It's MINERS . . . not MINORS! I thought it was funny! So she and Alex had their picture taken under the sign . . . he kept telling us. "I'm not a minor any more." (He turned 21 in January)

Jessie looking down the mine shaft inside the world famous Beau Jo's . . .

This was pretty funny. Alex asked the waitress what kind of beer they had, and so he got this "sampler" of beers, he said, "Its like I'm having a Tea Party of Beer!" I am still giggling about that!

Next we went to Heritage Square . . . I wanted Alex and Jessie to be able to Ride the Alpine Slide . . . but since it was rainy and cold they had closed it . . . so we had old fashioned pictures taken (I will post those later) and then went to Red Rocks.

this was the only picture I took at Heritage Square other than the old fashioned ones . . . I think it's pretty cute!
So we toodle over to Red Rocks . . . and the kids climb around on the rocks . . . (I guess I should have taken a picture of the sign that said "Don't climb on rocks you can go to jail for 180 days and have a $1000 fine"
I thought this one was cute! Jessie can hardly see over the top of the rock!

I love the expression on her face, kind of like, "Wow! Look at this!"

This picture is funny to me, because she has her hand out like she is going to keep him from falling! she is only as big as a minute, so he would have crushed her if he fell!

They climbed up and had their picture taken, and then when they were getting down, Jessie tripped and ran into the truck. We heard this loud crash/thud, and went running! But she was all right!

We had a wonderful day! I am so excited for her to be here and for me to get to know her. We are actually going to get to scrapbook together . . . and I can't wait for that!! Too much fun! I knew I always wanted daughters . . . they are tons of fun!

My Niece is here!!!

I'm so excited that my niece Jessica is here!!! How wonderful is that?!?!?

She missed her original flight because she had some issues with Security. God forbid!! She was trying to bring her contact solution~ All those deeply criminal things like contact solution and face lotion . . . you never know what evil purposed those things might have. So rather than a direct flight from Iowa to Denver. She went Iowa to Chicago to Denver . .. All because of Contact lens solution! UGH!

So Tim and I went to pick her up at the air port . . .

Isn't she super cute!!!?!?!?!

After we ate lunch! which was wonderful grilled pork loin, and potato salad and berry salad, and Melon, Alex and Jess decided to try to play Lacrosse. Alex was teaching her how, since they don't have that sport in Iowa.

Here is Alex, it's hard to play lacrosse and hold up your pants at the same time!

Alex showing Jess how to cradle the ball in the basket.

Jess~ Isn't she pretty!?!?! She is so sweet too!

Where did the ball go Alex? Did you miss it?

I kept trying to catch a picture of the ball in flight . . . finally I did! but its hard to see since it's moving so fast it might have broke the sound barrier.

Once Jess was done playing Tim went to play with Alex . . . Tim used to play lacrosse when he was in school.

God I love this man! He is so wonderful!

I think he was really having fun playing with Alex!

Hey! He caught it!!! (I wasn't surprised! I knew he would!)
And then here is the highlight of the evening for my kids. They have a hooka (Its a Indian tobacco pipe that they put in fruit flavored tobacco in- This is NOT used for DRUGS!) I have never smoked anything, so they had me try the banana flavored stuff, and then watched me as my face turned green. It was icky!!

It was such a great day . . . after my hooka (ICK) adventure we went in the house and played cards and talked! It was super fun!
Today we are off to the mountains! We are going to Mount Evans, Echo Lake and to Idaho Springs to eat Beau Jo's Pizza!
Alex is coming with us, since he is out work . . . it should be super fun! Although it will be really cold! It's only supposed to be cold and Rainy and only about 45 degrees in the mountains today! Burrr!! We will still have fun!
